Introduction – The Responsibility Behind Every Step
Kapas Paduka Natural Rubber Soles
Kapas Paduka natural rubber soles are biodegradable yes but not 100% biodegradable. Since they are derived from rubber plants, they naturally break down over time in alignment with nature’s own cycle.
Our biodegradable sneaker soles are made from organic rubber. However, to ensure durability and flexibility, we incorporate a vulcanization process that enhances strength while maintaining comfort and performance.
At Kapas Paduka, sustainability is not just about materials, it is about responsibility. Every part of our sneaker is thoughtfully designed, including the sole that touches the earth. Therefore we use natural rubber vulcanised soles – derived from rubber trees, not petroleum.
What is Natural Rubber?
Natural rubber is a biodegradable material obtained from the milky white sap (called latex) of rubber trees, mainly the Hevea brasiliensis, natural rubber is plant-derived and renewable.
How it is made?
- The bark of the rubber tree is carefully tapped.
- Latex (a natural liquid) flows out.
- The latex is collected and processed into solid rubber.
Why it is special?
- Plant-based and renewable
- Biodegradable under natural conditions
- Highly elastic and flexible
- Naturally water-resistant
- Comfortable and shock-absorbing
What is the vulcanization process?
Vulcanization is a treatment in which natural rubber is heated with sulfur (or other natural agents). This process strengthens the rubber by forming cross-links between its polymer chains. As a result, the material becomes more durable, elastic, heat-resistant, and long-lasting without losing its flexibility.
This balance allows Kapas Paduka to stay committed to sustainability while delivering quality and resilience in every step.
Is It Biodegradable?
Natural rubber is plant-based.
However, after vulcanisation, it becomes highly durable and decomposes very slowly.
At Kapas Paduka, we believe in honest sustainability — not greenwashing.
That’s why we say:
“Made with Natural Rubber”
Not “100% biodegradable.”
Why We Chose It?
We chose vulcanised natural rubber because:
- It lasts longer → reduces frequent replacement
- It avoids petroleum-heavy synthetic rubber
- It supports plant-based sourcing
- It provides strong grip and comfort
Our Long-Term Vision
We continue to explore:
- Low-sulfur curing systems
- Bio-based additives
- Recycled natural rubber blends
- Fully compost-certified sole technology
Our journey is evolving responsibly. Durability is also sustainability.

For now small suggestion,
Sir make the product 100% biodegradable with available materials ans sources. For durability make a change in design add one extra layer for the purpose of loss/consumption but in sync with your durability. For the purpose of cost recollect your product and return excess cost to the consumer( make consumer of your product not customer). Take your product and replace the consumed items add lost durability and make it a fresh new items. Reuse of the product has great value than the use of synthetic products.

So you are doing a great job thank you.
Thank you so much for your suggestions feedback and welcome to our Kapas Paduka Family Legacy.
